The first and most important task before the installation of the Bidet is to make sure the supply and drainage pipework is roughed in as per the current regulations for this type of installation. If you do not have experience installing home plumbing, you should really use the services of a professional like a Belgravia Plumber for this job. When this task is complete you can move on and place a circle of plumber’s putty onto the bottom of the bidet tap, and then place the tap body in the holes. Put on, and hand-tighten the washers with the locknut on the tap body. Using more of the plumber’s putty, smear it around the underside of the flange for the drain. Three layers of Teflon tape are advised to cover the last two thirds of the thread. Make sure that the tape follows the same rotation as the nut travels when it is tightened. Place the flange with the gasket and washer, into the drain hole, and then the nut. Fit the new drain in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications. Fit the bidet in its permanent position, make sure that the drain outlets are lined up. Copy the locations of the two side-mounting holes by making marks through predrilled holes in the stool, transferring them onto the floor. Put the Bidet to one side the and drill 3/16 pilot holes through the marks on the floor. Push the floor bolts into their holes. You may need a professional service like Belgravia Plumbers who guarantee their work. Connect the supply to the bidet tap, with compression unions. Connect the hot and cold feeds to their respective ports on the tap. Attach the P-trap to connect the drain. Then attach the trap to a branch line that comes from the wall or the floor just as for the drain on a sink. Clear out any debris in the supply line. Restore the water and check for any leaks. Assemble the bolt caps and thread them onto the floor bolts.
